中翻英，線上翻譯測試 － Google Strikes Back！

剛才無聊看看 Google Analytics ，發現本站最熱門的文章還是那篇《中翻英，線上翻譯測試》，我不知該說什麼，這不是件令人高興的事啊。總之，一時興起又來測看看。

查詢字意的關聯

WordNet和Word Association Thesaurus是查詢字意關聯的線上免費網站，也可以下載站上的dataset。前者似乎是用推論的方式去定義，後者對學生做限時測驗，要他們在極短的時間下回答第一個聯想到的字。
英英字典的用法

學英文到一個程度後，很多人都會建議使用英英字典，強調完全用英文思考的重要性。這半年來我斷斷續續地用One Look查，效果不錯。One Look是線上免費字典，並具有meta search功能，一般字典找不到時，One Look有可能從WikiPedia裡找到，省得自己再查WikiPedia。

實在太有趣了！
一開始不太習慣，還在想規則是什麼，看個兩行後，忽然seed在我心中綻開，在兩眼發光的狀況下，我毫無阻礙地讀完全文。

中翻英，線上翻譯測試（續）

原本以為這些工具沒可能將我大中華五千年來千錘百鍊的精練文字翻出有意義的內容，沒想到SYSTANS讓我嚇一跳，大家可以抽幾個句子丟到其它網站測一下，會比較有驚奇感。
王維的名句：”明月松間照，清泉石上流”

結語
後來陸續測了”月出驚山鳥，時鳴春澗中”，”人間如夢，一樽還將江月”，”古今多少事，都付笑談中”，效果都很糟，SYSTANS的中文詞彙可說是最完整的，將前述的句子丟到其它翻譯網站，會看到一堆羅馬拼音和字詞照順序直譯的句子，看來SYSTANS處理靜態句子的效果不錯，動態性的語句就差遠了。

提到靜態語句，忍不住測了下面這首，看來我大中華五千年的結晶仍沒可能輕易轉換過去啊。

翻身的機會又來囉，上回在”英翻中，線上翻譯測試”敗北的參賽者，這回可望一雪前恥，俗話說得好，知己知彼，百戰百勝，要做好英翻中，首要做好中翻英（路人：”邏輯不是這樣用的吧”），有些觀眾看了上次的測試，推薦altavista參賽，不過altavista和Yahoo Language Tools同樣是用SYSTANS，翻譯結果一樣。

結論
大家翻得都差不多，差別只在”要”是翻成”want”還是”must”，個人偏好”must”，聽起來比較有味道。無奈的是，我最鍾愛的Google看來像是來亂的 
。btw，我自己翻的結果是”Let me punish you for the moon”，變成”讓我為了月亮來懲罰你”。
Bonus
將Yahoo Language Tools翻的結果再用Yahoo Language Tools翻回去，這就是所謂的失真吧。
